Nell Mead – Helping You Be Your Own Physio
Some people arrive in your world and quietly raise the bar for what “care” really looks like. For us, one of those people is the brilliant and endlessly curious Nell Mead.
Nell has been part of the I’m Your P.A. family for over five years now. From the moment she joined us, it was clear that her work sits at the heart of something very human. She helps people understand their bodies in a way that builds confidence rather than fear, and she does it with warmth, humour and a huge amount of knowledge.
Over the years we have seen her take the expertise she once delivered one patient at a time and turn it into something far more accessible. Something that lets people learn, breathe, slow down and start caring for themselves in a whole new way.
From one pair of hands to thousands of people
After more than twenty-five years as a physiotherapist, working with everyone from elite athletes to people who had almost given up hope, Nell noticed the same question coming up again and again.
“Why does this keep happening?”
People wanted more than a list of exercises. They wanted to understand the bigger picture, to feel reassured, to connect the dots between pain, posture, lifestyle, old injuries and stress. They wanted the sort of explanation that makes your shoulders drop a little because suddenly it all makes sense.
That desire for clarity sits at the heart of everything Nell creates. Her Health and Performance Pyramid has helped so many people understand how the body’s systems link together, and why treating the painful spot alone sometimes misses the real story. She has a gift for turning complex science into everyday language, full of metaphors and practical advice you can actually remember.
It feels like being talked to by the clever friend who never makes you feel silly.
Courses that fit around real life
Because Nell is always thinking about the person behind the problem, her approach naturally expanded beyond the treatment room. Not everyone can get into a clinic. People juggle jobs, children, commutes, caring responsibilities and days that never seem to have enough hours in them.
Her online How To Be Your Own Physio courses grew from that understanding. They are calm, detailed and reassuring, with the same gentle step by step approach she uses in person. Instead of diving straight into fixing the painful bit, she takes you through assessing your whole body, helping you find your “driver,” the true source of the issue.
There is something incredibly empowering about that. You are not guessing. You are not relying on hope. You are learning how your own body works and you are doing it at a pace that suits you, whether that is ten minutes before bed or a quiet half hour at the weekend.
People often tell us they feel more in control, less anxious about their symptoms and more confident about what to do next.
Thinking systems, not symptoms
One of the reasons we admire Nell so much is the way she sees people as whole humans, not collections of joints and muscles. She cares about your sleep, your stress levels, the way you walk, how you sit when you are tired, the habits you do not even realise you have picked up.
Her work gently encourages you to look after yourself from the ground up. Not in a punishing or overwhelming way, but in a way that feels realistic and achievable. Her kindness is threaded through all of it.
It is no surprise that so many people describe her work as life changing. Sometimes the relief is physical, sometimes emotional, sometimes both.
The Nell we know
Behind all the knowledge there is a person who genuinely loves what she does. She lights up when she talks about breakthroughs. She celebrates the small wins just as much as the big ones. She cares deeply about helping people get back to the things they love.
From our side, she has been a pleasure to support. We have taken care of her calls and admin so she can focus fully on her patients and her writing. It has been lovely watching her turn years of experience into something that can reach far beyond the four walls of any clinic.
Proud to be in good company
At I’m Your P.A. we have a soft spot for people who make life gentler for others. Nell does this with every piece of work she puts into the world.
We are incredibly proud to be in good company with Nell Mead and to cheer her on as she continues helping people understand, trust and care for their own bodies.
