Tails of Rosies & Looby Loo

Dorset Doggy Diaries:

Rosie & Looby Loo at East Fleet Farm

Woof woof! Rosie and Looby Loo here, reporting back from our holiday in Freda the caravan. We’ve just come home from East Fleet Farm near Weymouth and what a week it was!

The long road south

We set off on Wednesday and, paws crossed, thought we’d be there quickly. Nope. Six hours in the car! By the time we finally arrived it was cloudy, windy, and Mummy and Doug were wrestling with the awning. We supervised, obviously. After all that drama, we had a little wander on the coastal path to stretch our legs. It looked very promising.

Rain, wind and wobbly awnings

Thursday was a washout, so we mostly snoozed. But Friday made up for it, we went for a huge walk along the coastal path, over hills and through farms. By the end, even our tails were tired.

Then came Saturday. Wind at 38mph with gusts of 54mph! Rosie bravely slept out in the awning with Mummy (just in case it took off). Looby wasn’t having any of it and hid in the bedroom until the storm passed. Thankfully by midnight, all was calm again.

Big adventures

Sunday was epic. We followed the coastal path all the way to Ferry Bridge, scrambled across Chesil Beach (18 miles long and made of pebbles, we didn’t do the whole thing, don’t worry), and kept going into Weymouth. By the time we got the bus back, Mummy’s watch said she’d done 12.5 miles, which means we must have done hundreds! We inhaled dinner, curled up in Freda, and were out like lights.

On Monday, we went somewhere called Durdle Door. The humans loved the view, but we were more interested in dragging Mummy back up the hill. Four legs definitely beat two. Then it was on to Portland Bill and its famous lighthouse. Very windy, very pretty, but boring for us, we were stuck on our leads.

Heading home

On Tuesday we explored the other end of Chesil Beach and some woods before the humans packed up the awning (again). We were secretly glad because our paws needed a rest.

It really was one of our best holidays, long walks, seaside sniffs, and more adventures than we can count. And guess what? We’re off again in Freda in just a couple of weeks. Aren’t we lucky little dogs?

Big licks,
Rosie & Looby Loo xx
